Star Period Star was formed in 1993 with the following lineup:
Chris Block/Bass
Dan VanSchindel/Drums
Dan Sweigert/Guitars/Vocals/Sampler
That group released the Drowning 7" in 1994.

The band was reformed later that year:
Jerry Overmeyer/Bass
Dave Rosato/Drums
Rolly Cesar/Guitars
and Dan Sweigert
They finished the debut CD originally started with the first group and released a split 7" with Cheer-Accident.

Alex Perkolup replaced Jerry Overmeyer on bass and the band released a second split 7" with the Marvel Kind in 1997.

The band was stripped down to a 3-piece:
Alex Perkolup/Bass
Dave Rosato/Drums
Dan Sweigert/Guitars/Vocals/Sampler
and released their 2nd studio CD Jet Propulsion Mystery Summer and an improv CD The Swivel Neck Justifies the Hand in 1998.
